Lesson 69 – My grievances hide the light of the world in me.

This is a very important lesson today. It defines the goal of the Course. The goal of the Course very specifically is to get you to a point where you have a personal experience with God. With enough effort and willingness you can actually have an experience where you see and hear God personally. We have the ability to do this anytime we want. It does seem difficult and it does take a lot of practice to get to that personal experience but it is well worth it. It is the goal of the Course and it is the goal of your life. Nothing we may pursue in the world is more important than accomplishing this one task that Jesus asks us to pursue today. He wants us to discover our Friend inside of us. He wants us to discover personally our Friend, God inside of us.

Lesson 68 – Love holds no grievances.

What really surrounds us right now is Light and Peace and Joy and Love. Unfortunately most of us spend most of our time believing in the darkness that surrounds us. Seeing the people, the places and the things that surround us, going here and there, doing this and that, is an engagement in the belief of darkness. None of it is true but the ego mind wants to hang onto it. The ego mind wants to hold onto the belief of darkness so that it may block out the Light from its awareness. It does this very well for it does not know the Light because it is not Light itself. The ego is made of darkness because it is darkness itself. Fear is darkness period.

Lesson 67 – Love created me like itself.

If you are suffering from some form of addiction, it is because you have identified yourself with the wrong creator. The ego mind teaches us that our parents are our creators and therefore we are destined to be like them. This unfortunate belief has been the cause of extreme pain for countless numbers over the ages. The ego mind can see its own unworthiness in the images of the parents it has created. And in that unworthiness belief it has decided that it too is unworthy of God. It has decided that God is punishing itself and therefore will take on the responsibility to continue to punish itself on behalf of the Creator. Lesson 66 – My happiness and my function are one.

Let us remind ourselves today that there is only one way to find true happiness and that is found by going within. The ego part of our mind is very good at presenting us with illusions that we think will bring us happiness. It is all a facade to continue to delay us and distract us from remembering to go within. Let’s practice observing our thoughts and beliefs today, especially the ones that become our happy goals. Let us practice being truly honest with ourselves and recognizing that the ego’s happy goals never really do bring us the experience of true happiness. For example, the ego may teach us that we love to go to a particular restaurant to have a meal. The ego may teach us that the food is wonderfully prepared there and

Lesson 65 – My only function is the one God gave me.

The idea of the old junk drawer came to mind today. You know that drawer, all the little what-nots and whatcha-ma-callits and even yes, old keys. Yes, you know those keys, the ones to the car that you sold 15 years ago, the keys to locks that you don’t know even know where they are, your old high school locker combination, old apartments and homes; all the old keys cluttering up the drawer along with everything else. All these only hold keys to the past, the memories of experiences that are now faint.
